Date

Aeres is now bundling all its education, courses, and training programs for professionals in the green sector under one roof. Aeres Training Centre aims to become the premier place where "green changemakers" can further develop. "Lifelong learning is more relevant than ever, especially in the green sectors, which are constantly undergoing transitions. There's a growing need for people with expertise in their field who are able to manage or guide these changes," says Jenny van den Bovenkamp, director of the renovated Aeres Training Centre.

'Lifelong learning more important than ever in the green sector'

Unique to Aeres Training Centre is its offering of more than 300 courses and training programs, all focused on the green sector. Professionals working in the green sector, or aspiring to do so, can find a wide range of training programs here, from agricultural and green management to courses and training focused on topics such as animals, food, or (green) education.

Aeres Training Centre also offers customized programs for organizations, such as in-house training, train-the-trainer programs, or international training programs.

Lifelong learning: all ages, all levels

With Aeres Training Centre, Aeres is responding to the growing demand for skilled professionals and the transitions visible in the green sectors. "We see that professionals and organizations realize that enormous changes are currently taking place, both in the green domain and professionally. Lifelong learning is therefore more important than ever," notes Van den Bovenkamp. "That is the core of what Aeres does. For years, we have been offering courses for all levels and ages: pre-vocational secondary education (VMBO), senior secondary vocational education (MBO), and higher professional education (HBO), as well as our offerings for professionals and businesses." Aeres' position within green education and practice-oriented research is a major advantage for a relevant and up-to-date course offering. New knowledge and developments, including those resulting from collaborations with green sectors and from Aeres' research branch, are immediately available within the curriculum.

Green changemakers

The mission of Aeres Training Centre is to use this knowledge and experience to train a growing number of green changemakers. Van den Bovenkamp: “Many issues in the green sector are quite complex. Our ambition is to train as many people as possible to tackle these issues. From small issues in your own field to larger societal challenges. Green changemakers can make a difference.”
